Viral Chhaya is the Director for Global People Services Operations, Payroll and Timekeeping for General Motor’s GBS, leading the Off-shore and On-shore Shared Services Centers as well as Outsourced, In-Country and Hybrid Services in these areas.

Prior to this, he was the Director for Data Strategy at GBS, where he enabled setting up of those key capabilities of Data Sourcing & Integration, Data Governance, Master Data Management and Data Quality, which were essential components for the CFO’s Priority Initiatives.

He has also previously been the Director for Global Transactions (Accounts Payable and Receivable) at GM, helping modernize and transform the engagement model resulting in Best in Class Quality at Best in Class cost.

Viral joined GM 4 years ago from Bank of America where he was the Operational Excellence Leader for their Captive Centers, responsible for Transformation / Business Impact, Productivity, Customer Experience, Operational Risk Reduction and Change Management Initiatives.

He previously spent over a decade with GE and Genpact in several large roles across Engagement / P&L Leadership for Multiple Accounts and Businesses, and in Operations, Migrations, Consulting, Operational Excellence and BCP-DRP while being based at the USA, Europe and India; leading Cross-functional teams across several countries.

He has also worked with P&G (Gillette) in Sales and Marketing and with the Tata Group in Projects and Production.

Viral is a Certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt and a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt. He knows 7 languages.
