Richard St. Onge

Associate Vice Chancellor for Collaborative Business Services University of Texas System

Richard St. Onge serves as the Associate Vice Chancellor for Collaborative Business Services at UT System.  Richard staffs the UT System Collaborative Business Services Executive Committee chaired by Dr. Scott Kelley, UT System Executive Vice Chancellor for Business Affairs, and comprised of the Chief Business Officers from the UT System academic and health institutions.  Richard identifies future cross-campus collaborative projects that save money and improve quality.

Richard also oversees the UT System Supply Chain Alliance (Alliance) which is focused on the following five “lines of business”: Sourcing and Contracting; Spend Analytics; Clinical Value Analysis; Supplier Relations; and Premier.  The Alliance generated over $28 million in potential cost savings for the UT System institutions in FY19.  Additionally, the Alliance continues to be self-funded (admin fees paid by suppliers) and annually distributes excess admin fees to the participating campuses on a pro rata basis.

Richard also is leading the UT System Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Technology Journey.  RPA is computer software programs that automates manual, tedious, mundane, error prone, etc. work at the “keystroke” level.  Early use case results have been very successful in terms of efficiency gains (20-30 fold increases) and repurposing employee time to more strategic, value-added work.

Richard received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Texas Tech University and a Masters of Accountancy from UT El Paso.  Richard is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Internal Auditor.
