April Russo is a seasoned finance and accounting executive with over 25 years of experience in global business operations, financial and managerial accounting, and finance transformation. She is currently Vice President of Compliance and Transformation for Gannett’s Shared Services organization. April is responsible for proactively monitoring and evaluating the control environment, identifying and rectifying control deficiencies, leading internal control rationalization efforts, and designing controls to fit Gannett’s future state operating model. She also leads the execution of change initiatives, proactively identifying opportunities for operational efficiency, developing the business case for change, and ensuring achievement of anticipated outcomes. Prior to Gannett, April provided management advisory services to Fortune 500 and mid-sized global clients as an independent consultant. She proactively identified client needs and offered innovative solutions to include business process best practices. As a trusted partner to the client team, April assisted in the execution of strategic improvements from the planning through implementation stages as well as monitoring for success.
