Dr. S Venkat Kumar is presently a Principal Consultant - Business Support with KONE Elevators and Escalators India

Dr.Venkat joined KONE in 2016 as Director and Head, KONE Business Services, responsible for reliable service delivery and unified service management for all business services (captive and outsourced) covering 50+ KONE units across the globe.

Dr.Venkat has over 36 years of industry experience out of which 27 years are in the GBS, Shared Services & BPO industry building large scale GCC’s.

Venkat’s key competencies include driving organisational transformation, strategizing business growth, establishing new service verticals, building cost effective delivery centres focussing on operational excellence, lean and digitalisation. On the people front Venkat has been instrumental in leveraging talent, driving high employee engagement , fostering a global work environment and building high performance teams.

Prior to KONE , Dr.Venkat had served as Chief Operating Officer of Rural Shores Business Services Pvt Ltd: World’s largest Impact Sourcing and Inclusive Destination. Earlier he was Senior Vice President at Reliance BPO and Unit Head, Chennai – the BPO Services Company of Reliance Group, heading Pan India BPO Operations. He has also been the General Manager, Indian Operations and Director of Indian Board with Hays plc UK. Head of Offshore Shared Services Centre, Chemoil Corporation – largest bunker fuel distributor in the United States and Finance and Project Manager with Facit Asia :: a TATA group Company.

Dr.Venkat having acquired Ph.D in Management Studies from Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupathi, is also a university topper in MBA from the same institution. A very active player in the Industry Dr.Venkat was Vice Chairman for NASSCOM captive forum (TN & KRL circle) and President of Chennai District Chess Association. With keen interest in people practices , knowledge development and public relations , Dr.Venkat is a regular speaker and panelist at various BPO, Shared Services and Global Business Services forums. In his pursuit to build industry academia relationship Venkat shares his knowledge as a guest lecturer and external examiner for various management colleges.

Dr.Venkat is greatly involved in social service and religious activities and follows his key mantra: “work with simple living and high thinking.” Married to Aruna, a Physiotherapist, he is blessed with two sons Sai Kiran and Sai Pavan pursuing career interests in Engineering.
