Vice President of Finance, Center of Excellence & Global Business Services Jabil

As VP of Finance at Jabil, Chin Kuang Kim is responsible for the financial well-being of the Company and GBS/Center of Excellence (COE) Finance activities in Jabil.

Kim joined the company in 2008, and while based in Penang, Malaysia, his global role sees him contributing to Jabil’s long-term sustainability and business expansion objectives, and driving transformation value-add activities for Finance.

Throughout his career in the company, Kim strategically evolved the role of Finance from fulfilling simple and transactional day-to-day processes to one of a valued and strategic business partner. Kim drove transformative initiatives that improved the agility and efficiency of the function while offering broader value-added consulting and advisory services.

As an experienced commercial and operational planning finance professional, Kim is skilled in Managerial Finance, Business Development, Financial Planning, Analytical Skills and Business Process Improvement. Under his leadership, Jabil GBS has won several awards including the 2019 GBS Company of the Year by PIKOM (the national ICT Association of Malaysia); 2022 Most Innovative Use of Automation, and 2023 Excellence in Financial Planning & Analysis – both by the FutureCFO award.

A keen advocate of issues related to the shared services industry, Kim is formerly the chairman of the Malaysia GBS Focus Group, an industry-driven community dedicated to strengthening the position of Malaysia as a location of choice for the Global Business Services (GBS) industry. He is also a member of the OM Committee (formerly known as Outsourcing Malaysia), a chapter of PIKOM.

He is also the former honorary chairman of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (Northern region), a Board Member of Penang Tech Centre Bhd, an Honorary Industry Fellow for the University of Science Malaysia, an industry advisor for the University of Tunku Abdul Rahman; and Advisory Board Member for Tech Dome Penang and UOW Malaysia KDU Malaysia University. Kim started his career at Ernst & Young and Kingston Technology.

He graduated with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Derby, United Kingdom and a Bachelor in Accounting from Universiti Utara Malaysia. He is a registered chartered accountant with the Malaysian Institute of Accountants.
