Shahid is currently performing the role of General Manager for GBS, Malaysia hub as well as Global Head of GBS Finance (global GBS Finance team is circa 1300 strong). He joined BAT Pakistan in 1997 in Finance function, and completed assignments (mostly as leadership team member of relevant cluster of markets) in Nigeria, Senegal, South Korea, Vietnam, Turkey and Indonesia before his current role.

He has contributed to many cross functional and functional strategic projects including, business integration and M&A projects in various markets. He drove implementation of multiple capital management projects leading to significant savings. He also strongly drove the talent development in his area, drove strategic projects of legal structure change, and projects to gain access to new markets as well as growing consumer segments.

He has driven the simplification and automation agenda in the Finance function, and has sponsored various projects to make GBS more focused on commercial value addition through leveraging technology.
