SAP was founded in 1972 and was originally called System Analysis Program Development (Systemanalyse Programmentwicklung), later using the acronym SAP. When it first started, SAP was a small company with only five people. Through unremitting efforts, SAP has grown into a large multinational enterprise headquartered in Walldorf, Germany, with more than 105,000 employees worldwide.
The products originally launched by SAP were SAP R/2 and SAP R/3, which established the ERP standard for the world. Today, SAP S/4HANA has raised ERP to a new level. SAP S/4HANA uses powerful in-memory computing technology, capable of processing massive amounts of data, and supports advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning.
SAP has also launched a smart enterprise suite, which integrates various applications based on a fully digital platform, connects various business areas of the enterprise, and replaces the traditional process-driven platform. Currently, SAP has more than 230 million cloud users, offers hundreds of solutions covering all business functions, and also has the most comprehensive cloud product portfolio in the market.
