Vice President Global Business Services and Corporate Controller Amway

Michael van der Ploeg is the Vice-President Global Business Services and Corporate Controller for Amway. He is leading a global transformation of GBS, expanding the current remit with a customer mindset, as part of a new enterprise operating model. Amway is the largest direct selling company in the world. Since joining Amway in 2010, he held several leadership positions globally and for the Europe- India-Africa region. Amongst these were Vice-President Global FP&A as well as Chief Financial Officer for Europe, India and Africa, and Vice-President of IT for Europe and Russia. In these capacities he led implementation of Oracle for his region, redesigned the FP&A function and in-market Finance roles for higher effectiveness in decision support, and established a Business Service Centre located in Krakow, Poland. Prior to joining Amway he held several finance and leadership functions for United Biscuits, Debis Systemhaus and Yves Rocher. He holds an Executive MBA from the HEC School of Management, Paris, France and a Bachelor in Business Administration from the University of Nyenrode, Netherlands.
