Osman Mia

Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Global Finance Services AstraZeneca

Osman Mia is the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Global Finance Services for AstraZeneca. Osman is responsible for overseeing the global finance process strategy, design and delivery across AstraZeneca targeted at creating a world class finance shared services organisation. This includes identifying and directing transformational projects, transition management, change management, technological advancements and he is responsible for defining, leading and implementing the digital strategy encapsulating GAI, AI and automation to create enhanced capability and efficiency, all underpinned by the strategic priorities of People, Process and Productivity (the 3Ps). As well as his core role, Osman is also a global co-sponsor within AstraZeneca’s Finance I&D council. Prior to joining AstraZeneca, Osman held various roles within finance and commercial with PwC and Tetra Pak. Osman has international experience, having worked in South Africa, UK, Dubai and is now based in the UK with his wife and 2 kids. Osman graduated from the University of Natal, South Africa with an undergraduate degree in Bachelor or Commerce, a post graduate degree in Accounting and is a registered Chartered Accountant.
