Speakers:
James is the CFO for the Challenger Bank and is responsible for overseeing all things finance including financial control, management & statutory reporting, strategic planning and capital allocation. A key part of his role is to attain operational efficiencies and provide a scalable platform to support the growth of the Bank. Prior to his appointment as CFO for the Bank, James oversaw the Group Finance function as General Manager, Finance. Originally trained as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG, James has spent nearly 20 years in the banking and insurance industries in Australia and the UK with Challenger and HSBC Bank respectively.
James holds a Bachelor of Business from UTS, Sydney and has completed the General Management Program at Harvard Business School. James is also a CFA charter holder and is a member of the Chartered Accountants of Australia and New Zealand.
David joined Challenger in 2007 and has held a number of roles within the Finance team.
After joining as a statutory accountant he soon moved into the Business Performance (FP&A) team where he has held a number of different management roles taking ownership of budgeting and monthly management reporting processes.
David moved into the projects team in 2020 and was a key member in the implementation of a new general ledger system. Following the successful launch of the new General Ledger David took on responsibility for the implementation of Workiva within Challenger Finance.
Narain Viswanathan is a senior IT industry executive and leader based in Sydney, Australia. He is currently the sales leader for Workiva in ANZ working with several local clients on their finance transformation initiatives. His career experience includes key sales and transformation focused roles in companies such as Kofax, Open Text, Deloitte and HP. He has consulted, engaged, delivered and sold to clients in the ANZ and APAC markets in the last 20+ years. In his previous role, he worked with Australia's leading banks, financial services and insurance companies on financial process automation transformation projects.
